Google safe browsing blocks site

Post by mesb » Fri Sep 08, 2023 5:43 pm

Hi.

FYI:

Atleast for the moment of this post, actual google chrome and firefox refuses to download anything from:

https://opengd77.com/downloads/CPS/Latest

As google safe browsing provided it as unsafe with red color.

Just click on the "ignore the risk" link in the first line of the section where OpenGD77 is mentioned by name and the download will proceed as normal.

Then stop using chrome, it's bad for your privacy and multiple other valid reasons ;-) (not kidding).

Cheers.

Ditto

Google are making Chrome worse and worse every day

Use another browser which does not treat you like you a product that can be bought and sold

PS.
I tested this on Chrome and it did not show this screen

The reason is probably because the CPS exe install file is unsigned.
And getting a software signing certificate costs money.

Software signing costs at least $1000 per year, and may not prevent these false positives.

So many signing keys have now been breached, its no guarantee of security.

Unfortunately it's not that simple - I use Firefox with Temporary Containers plugin and I don't use Google as my search engine. I still get this screen from Google now.

My guess is that someone, upset that their bot account has been disabled, has decided to take a rather childish revenge against you guys.

There are plenty of browser alternatives (I'm personally using brave).
