The problem with "Samp." for sample, is that sample is a computer term, that people may not understand, and also abbreviations are not so good.

I think "Sample" as a noun is not entirely computer term. For example, you can ask for samples of something before you buy a large batch of it or there are blood samples for examination in the lab etc. Derived words, like "Sampling frequency", or "to sample" as a verb, are moreless used in the IT technology only, but in general, I believe most people can understand it.

OK.

I will wait for some more feedback

So far most people were happy with Scan Dwell time, and I had one definite vote for it.

But I don't have any "scanner" radios, so I don't know what terms are commonly used in those radios

Hi Roger,

Both of my GD77s are running fine with the April 2 release. I am fine with "Dwell" as the descriptor for adjusting the amount of time the radio pauses on a frequency while scanning. Seems like an intuitive label for this function.

Thanks for this release and 73,

I haven't run across any issues so far with the April 2nd release, and "Scan dwell" makes perfect sense to me.

I don't think we need to "dwell" on this subject any longer. ;)
