Hi,
I don't have much experience with open GD77 CPS, but have a question about TG4000 used on the BrandMeister network.
On my other radios MD380 and CS700 , I have managed to get TG4000 working as a split talkgroup, Tx TG4000, Rx TG9.
On the BrandMeister network TG4000 is sent to close down active talkgroups.
The reply "Not linked" is sent back on TG9.
Does the open GD77 CPS allow me to do this?

Re: Split Talkgroups, BrandMeister TG4000
Hi,
Also, you need to forget about 1 channel per TS/TG/etc, the concept here is 1 channel per frequency, with a linked contact list (TG/PC with or without specific TS).
On top of this, you can enter using the HT's keyboard any TG or PC, so in the end you don't need a 4000 contact, as you can simply define it on the fly: #4000<GREEN>, and you're done. The same apply for the link status (PC 5000) or parrot (PC 9990).
I suggest you to read the user manual to get an overview of the easiness DMR usage with the firmware, and how minimalistic your codeplug will turn into.

Cheers.

You don't need such things with the OpenGD77, as promiscuous mode is on by default, so you will hear whatever active TG is.zl2bez wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:47 amHi,

Re: Split Talkgroups, BrandMeister TG4000
Hi,
Thanks for the clarification.
I don't really trust promiscuous mode as I have seen it creating a great deal of confusion among DMR radio users in the past.
I am a little bit dubious about the long term of this project. I have seen other projects that fail, when the champion steps away.

Hi Paul,
Some info on OpenGD77 vs regular dmr here:
- viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1230&sid=08748deb89 ... 79b#p10875
Feel free to contact me about making an NZ codeplug. (no PM possible here anymore sorry. Tried to send you msg via qrz.com)
hard for me to test so having a wellington contact would be good
