Marketing and advertising on Forum

Post by K9JPT » Thu Oct 29, 2020 8:07 pm

If a fellow ham encounters a product on the market and finds it interesting to share with others where is the line drawn between Marketing and advertising vs. free speech and suppression? Especially if you wanted to learn more aspects of the product from others?

Personally, I don't find it bad manners to share product information with others if the intent isn't to take advantage of others but strictly to share and knowledge share.

That is on admin/mods to assess. If anyone doesn't like it, one should be reminded that this is not a democracy. If one doesn't like it, one can leave.

On the other hand, one can tell us about an interesting product and copy paste exact name of the product, then tell everyone to search for it on online seller sites, which we all know, without mentioning site names.

it's a fine line... ;)
