Post by IK3EDT » Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:33 pm

As a radio telegraphy enthusiast, I created this boot melody for the ignition of my GD 77, it is the word READY in CW:

38,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2,0,2,0,2,0,2,38,2,0,2,0,2,0,2,38, 2,0,2,38,6,0,2,0,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2,0,2,38,2,0,2,0,2, 0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,6,0,2

As a radio telegraphy enthusiast, I created this boot melody for the boot of my GD 77, it is the word READY in CW:

38,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2,0,2,0,2,0,2,38,2,0,2,0,2,0,2,38, 2,0,2,38,6,0,2,0,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2,0,2,38,2,0,2,0,2, 0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,6,0,2

Everyone can, for example, create their own CW callsign to use as a boot melody. Each sound emitted by the speaker requires 4 numbers separated by commas:
38,2,0,2 will be a point on CW
38,6,0,2 will be a line on CW
0,2,0,2 will be a silence lasting one point
0,6,0,2 will be a silence lasting one line

THE BIG LIST OF OPENING TUNES - ANY REQUESTS?

Post by VE3RWJ » Wed Feb 24, 2021 6:16 pm

Hi. I'm blind and a bit lazy, so I'm not going to waid through the boot screen and tunes thread looking for gems.

The following post contains a list of opening melodies you can load into your radio. In the next post, I'll put a list of tunes I'm considering for the next batch, and one I just did for someone who requested it. Please put your requests in replies.

Think of things that have hooks, short riffs, earworms...

For those who want to mess about with the GD77 start up tones, launch the OpenGD77 CPS, go to the Extras Menu with ALT+E, then O for Open GD77 Support. Look for an edit field with some numbers in it and a Play Tune button. The numbers are read as comma-delimited pairs. the first number is the pitch, the second number is the duration. Use 0 in the pitch spot for silence. 1 gets you second octave A, and each increment gives you half a step (one semitone) up. 4 is third octave C, 16 is "middle C", 28 is fifth octave C... 40 is 6th octave C.

Here are many, many Tunes You Can Simply Copy and Paste into the edit field.
