Better source than buytwowayradios.com?
I ordered the 5W/GPS version of the MD-UV390 Plus from buytwowayradios.com but received the 10W version without GPS. It doesn't appear that they have control over the stock of their radios. I thought I was ordering from a reputable place. Can anyone recommend a better source for the 5W/GPS version of this radio? I understand that at this time it is not a supported radio.
Re: Better source than buytwowayradios.com?
People reported that the original production run of UV390 PLUS radios worked OK with the firmware, but in the last 2 or 3 weeks multiple people bought new radios which don't appear to work.K5FYI wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 10:31 pmI ordered the 5W/GPS version of the MD-UV390 Plus from buytwowayradios.com but received the 10W version without GPS. We don't know why this is, and presume that the latest batch of UV390 PLUS must have some hardware differences

Just FYI - BTWR admitted they only have 10W non-GPS now despite their page selling the radio stating it's 5W and has GPS. Buyers beware of this seller!

Please will anyone who has the UV380/390 PLUS version, whether it works correctly or not with the OpenGD77 firmware, use the "Backup registers" function in the CPS, and zip the file and then post it here
In the CPS.
Make sure you select the Radio Type as MD-9600/UV380 etc
In the Extras menu item select "OpenGD77 support"
On the OpenGD77 support screen, press the "Backup registers" button.
This will prompt to save the file.
After the file has been saved, zip it and post it here
We need this data for multiple versions of the UV380/390 PLUS radios, both 5W and 10W to try to understand the manufacturer settuings which may be affecting the display operation on the 10W version of the UV380/390
