Scan settings have now changed to options menu.
When Roger approves this change there will be three new strings added to all Language files.
'Scan Mode', 'Hold' and 'Pause'.

I can see that maintaining these files will be time consuming for a while as we add new functions all the time. Translators will need to re-visit the files regularly and translate any new strings. Thank you all for doing that.

@IU4LEG:

Thanks for the translation, unfortunately you had used a old template. Please take a look at https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... /english.h. There you will find all actual strings to translate.

Riku

Some of the Finnish texts are far too long, they are much wider than will fit on the display

For text like menu names, max letters is 16.

For options and other similar things, the text is shorter as the value also needs to be displayed.

You need to shorten the texts and post again

I've added the Italian translation file, but it didnt have some of the newer texts, hence I had to use the English texts for those items.

If anyone wants to check the latest texts, they are stored in GitHub,

https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... /languages

I've noticed that some translated texts are too long and do not fit on the screen, the problems mostly occur on the Options and the Channel Details screens, where both the text and also some other data is shown on the same line
e.g. "Band Limits"
"Band Limits:On"
&
"Band Limits:Off"

In this case "Band Limits:Off" takes 16 characters which is the maximum

For the translated text, authors need to consider not just the length of the text e.g. "Band Limits' but also the value that is displayed for this

And in some cases e.g.

"Beep vol:" this is followed by a number which could be "-24dB" . so that the "-24dB" requires 5 characters of the total 16.

So, I've made a change to the German text to remove some "." at the end of the options, if it made the overall text too long.

Hi Roger,
I quickly tested the latest version, on the FM screen, the French translation of "squelch" overflows liberally on the bargraph.
The word "squelch" is very used also in French and one could put back "squelch", like in English.

Cheers
Thierry
