Re: Alpha version available for download
ok ... have the firmware loader and have backups of the factory and such, but now I need to be sure about the CPS that use once I update the firmware. Do I use the latest CPS release for the GD77 / DM-1801 / RD-5R, or is it a modified CPS version ?
Finally will a saved CPS file that was created for the GD77 or other radios load and work on the MD-9600 ?
Just making sure I get this correct before I go to far down this road.

Thought I had read them but doing a 2nd and 3rd time realize that I missed much, sorry about that. Also did not notice that there is a new option in the CPS to select Radio type.
All is good now and I have the Alpha version loaded and working on one of the three md9600. Seems to function and I will be using it more.
Re: Alpha version available for download
Glad you managed to get it working.
As you have found the codeplug is exactly the same for all radio types which keeps things simple.
The MD9600 also has plenty of memory so you should be able to load the entire DMR database. Just leave the region selection blank when downloading to the CPS.
Much of the code is common to the GD77 implementation and most features should be usable. There may be a few, more obscure, things that don’t work yet.

Re: Alpha version available for download
Just a side note, but probably important, cause many people will try FW/CPS now...
User ID database at RadioID.net is currently broken.
(File: user.csv 12450945 2022-03-05 05:01:04)
So, don't blame CPS.
