Hi,

Quick question, I might have missed this, but I just realized the language options now have VOICE (L1), L2, L3. I assume I can upload more than one language. If that is the case, how these variables are loaded with the target language? I am assuming I can upload 3 languages and the latest one would became L1 and the first one uploaded would become L3. Is this correct? Thanks.

No, the L stands for Level not language

We should probably get rid of the L and just have Voice 1 , 2 and 3

The voice prompts generally increase in verbosity with the number

Voice 1,2 3 might be more confusing as it kind of implies there are three voices.
I think the L is good because when you know it means level, you will understand it.

Currently its:
Voice, Voice L2, Voice L3

You could use:
- C for complexity
- V for verbose will probably be confusing
- D for detail
- +
- ??

Voice, Voice D2, Voice D3
Voice, Voice +, Voice ++

Thanks, now it makes sense... I suggest that the L could be replaced by Lvl to indicate level. L alone in a voice context is a short leap to pass the meaning as Language. Thanks again.

Unfortunately the display width is only 16 characters, and "Prompt:Voice Lvl1" would be 17 characters and difficult to read

"Prompt:Voice Lvl 1"

would be 18 characters

I guess Lv 1 would just fit, but since the voice audio does not need to correspond to the on screen texts, as it already said "Voice Mode 2" etc, then perhaps just Voice, Voice + and Voice ++ is equally good, as it would encourage people to read the User Guide to understand the differences

Currently Voice 1 and 2 are virtually identical, and possibly Voice 2 may be redundant now, as it may have been superseded by other changes.
However I don't want to remove it at the moment as there may be other reasons to have the intermediate level between 1 and 3

I have released new voice prompts

https://github.com/LibreDMR/voice-promp ... 2020.10.04

These include additions for the individual channel power setting, but these have not been translated from English to the other supported languages.

I have also made an initial version of Dutch in 2 voices "Ruben" and "Lotte" using the Dutch language file used to display text in the radio.
The Dutch voice prompts now needed to be fully translated to remove abbreviations etc

ON7LDS has supplied an update for the Dutch language prompts

So I've rebuilt both Dutch voices, Ruben and Lotte and have created a new release
