As a side note, it's better to provide vectorised image (lossless) for printing rather than bitmap one, which can create pixelized artefacts.

I printed using a normal colour printer onto a mailing label. This Has survived for several months,

True, if you have a printer (mine get broken many months ago by... someone... feeding wrong paper type in the tray), good paper, good inks, double-sided adhesive...

So, ~1€ per sticker sheet (incl. VAT, excl. shipping cost), for 1x5 labels with a film layer which make it more scratches resistant, the choice has been quickly made :D (as my friend F1CXG told me, the supports of the stickers are expensive).
