OpenGD77 radio label

Post by VK3KYY » Sun Nov 17, 2019 11:29 pm

In case anyone wants to customise their radio.

I've included the label I made.

You can either peel off the original Radddity label and stick this one in the same location or stick it on top of the original logo

You'll need to scale it to match your printer etc.

You probably won't believe this, but I have several radios with this label on them, and people don't realise the radio is a GD-77 !

Thanks for the artwork, I printed a few on standard sticky backed paper laser printing labels and sprayed the sheet with PCB conformal coating acrylic for a bit of protection. I'll see how durable it is.

Now it looks like an official OpenGD77 upgrade. :)

I just printed mine onto a mailing label and its survived remarkably well so far.

Albeit it doesn't leave the house that much.

Roger,

Do you have a vectorized file (lossless scalable) ?

Daniel

I just did it in Photoshop.

I am pretty sure the font is Lato, which is an open source font.

You could easily recreate it in a vector drawing application like Inkscape

The colour of the orange is designed to be the same as the Radioddity orange, but I just matched it “by eye”, from the logo originally on the radio.

I don’t think the orange needs to be 100% accurate and it may avoid copyright issues if it is not exactly the same ;-)

Really nice.

I'll use it on the right side as I ordered my callsign for the front.
In fact it was a "group order" with 12 people involved.
