Update 10th March

There have been some modifications and enhancements in the last couple of days, so I've decided to upload another release of the firmware

Because there are now 2 different versions of the firmware upload file. GD-77, DM-1801 and GD-77S, its no longer practical to keep them in the same place on github, as this is starting to overload the repository souce code tracking system.

But Github has another system to handle "Releases" so I'm now trying to use this.

https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... /R20200310

I'm still using the same numbering system for the releases i.e Year Month Day (YYYYMMDD) e.g. 10th March 2020 is 20200310

However rather than naming the sgl file as Latest, I'm just calling them OpenGD77.sgl, OpenDM1801.sgl and OpenGD77S_HS.sgl

You should be able to download the appropriate file for your radio, by clicking on the appropriate file.

Changes in this release are

  • Improved Colour Code detection. Thanks to Colin G4EML
  • Update to Catalan language . Thanks to EA3AM.
  • Improvements to the Transmit on the wrong TimeSlot bug. Thanks to me.
  • Added an experimental version to use the GD-77S (the version without screen or keypad), ONLY as a hotspot. Thanks to Daniel and me.
Thanks also to Daniel (F1RMB) for updating the bin2sgl tool that encrypts builds the sgl files from the unencrypted firmware file, and also for the PR to include the source code for bin2sgl and also the firmware loader tools, into the OpenGD77 repository.

Hi Roger,
Surely I do not understand how github works, yesterday I made a fork of your repository to test things and I do not know if it did not work well but I do not see the modifications you have to update my fork.
Could the changes you made make I not see any changes? Or surely it is that I did not work properly the forks system ...
The other option is to throw the fork in the trash and start over. :ugeek:
I think it may be too complicated for me ... I studied a bit of "Basic" a century ago ... with the Commodore, and the ZX81 ...

Thanks for using the Releases feature. I'm much happier with that than with keeping the files in git. Also very nice to have tags for the release so we know which revision it was built from without checking in the Firmware info on the device.

Your fork is a point-in-time snapshot of Roger's repository. You can update it, but GitHub doesn't keep it in sync for you. You'll have to learn about remotes and rebasing (or resetting) heads.

Deleting your fork and forking again is also fine. For smaller bugfixes that's pretty common.

Has been running on my two GD-77s for hours (one hotspot and one normal).
Couldn't find any problems so far.
Thank you very much...
