This evening I will return home with the second radio, which I have at 6 frames, By the same route.
Possibly the difference will be minimal. I can't bring both radios at the time because I only have an outdoor antenna in my car. And the signal is so marginal that with the antenna of the walkie I receive practically nothing.

I think think the only difference using a longer timeout, is at the end of the transmission , the speaker and the LED do not turn off so quickly.
however 13 frames is only 390mS so is not noticeable.

Yes, I think the value 13 is more appropriate. The reason is that in hotspot mode the 6 can generate a ban on the BrainMeister network, in case of repeated drops for a second. The 13 divides this possible result in half.
And as you say, 390ms are not noticeable.

i resurrected my bluestack mega today and NO STUTTERING
i swapped to mmdvm jumbo because they had no issues
so this latest fix has cured it.

- When in static with the hotpost in the same room, I have experimented 0 dropout/stattering. This is the best piece of news of my day. The last time that this happened was with the first release of the Tier 1 only firmware. All the following releases had these dropouts.
- When I try to move my GD77 without any antenna in the next room to look for a very small signal the dropouts/statterings are rare and shorter, less invasive. It is much more better.
- When scanning or switching VFO/MR I still experiment some dropouts/statterings when the DMR frequency is in use but they are less frequent and shorter, less (I wrote "much" as a mistake) more invasive.
So yes, this is a major improvement! You got it. It is almost perfect now.

the gd77 did originally suffer on the blue stack dv mega, so i invested in a jumbo spot and everything was great.
i stopped using the mega because of that.
but.... today, its behaving, so the mega must be more sensitive to certain stuff that the jumbo doesn't (if that makes sense!! )
in any case the 13 frames has cured whatever it was.

This makes a huge difference. I've only tested it at 6 over a few minutes from within my house where inside coverage is marginal.
I'm also testing it at 12, which seems to be even better and very much noticeable to me. I'm going to test it on my drive and see how it works. This certainly makes it a lot more like the stock firmware.
