Ad hoc TalkGroup addition/TOT change

Post by W7ML » Sat Mar 16, 2024 5:28 pm

I’m listening on one TG and I hear them moving to a TG that is not programmed into my DM-5R (RD-5R).

Can I manually add the new TG so that I can listen and talk on it with the keypad or must I use a computer to add the TG?

According to the your latest posts, I think it's really time to read the user guide.

With all due respect:

Are you referring to the OpenGD77_User_Guide linked above your post?

I am a 74 year old with a bit of ADD.

57 years ago I started my instruction in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and I was the first one in line reading 150+ page manuals because my brain was still fresh.

By the time I learned Einstein’s famous quote:
I never memorize anything I can look up, because it takes up too much valuable brain space
my brain was pretty full.

I appreciate having information spoon fed to me and in the past have been happy to make financial donations to this group for its invaluable contributions.

Please remind me of the link for financial contributions.

Thank you again.

Yes, that's the user guide, you might find almost everything there (the cheat sheet, etc).
You even have a PDF version of the user guide https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... ree/master

There is no donation in this Ham project.

Cheers.

Craig: what a terrific feature; thank you!

Makes OpenGD77 worth the price of admission. I am now freed to watch and listen to the Hoseline and jump into conversations on an ad hoc basis!

I seem to be timing out and I did read about TOT in the Guide. I found the Sound Option of Timeout Beep of 10s, but I am getting no sound alert and how to I set my TOT for a greater amount of time? Thank you in advance.

TOT is set on a per channel basis, and can be done in the CPS or the firmware (Channel Details screen).

If not TOT is set, i.e is set to 0; the timer counts upwards showing how long you have been transmitting

If TOT is set to a value other than 0 then the timer counts down.
