OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
Thanks Roger and Bud for the explanation. Not a problem at all, and re-ordering the channels in the zones is fine for getting things ordered in the radio.
Sorry for the distraction!

Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
i exported my channels, loaded excel re organised them and saved, but when I tried importing them back into the cps, it didn't work so many options to save in excel, i dont really know (not having really used it) can someone please explain how to do it properly to a 'newbie' with excel like me, thanksVK3KYY wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 3:14 amYou could try exporting and importing contacts.
I'm not sure if it every worked perfectly, but I added the TS Override to the export.
BTW. I'm pretty sure if you re-ordered the CSV and re-imported it, things would be screwed up, because I don't think the code ever checked which TG was in which Rx Group (TG List), as those list only hold the index number into the contacts rather than the actual TG number
But I've got plenty of other more important things to do, than fix old bugs in the CPS inherited from the official CPS

hold the front page........
in channels
ok select all rows and export
open in excel
organise and save as (CSV comma delimited) (filename) and click yes to message about keep format
back in cps in channels
import clear all select yes
choose your modified cps
save and write to radio
phew

Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
Hey again
Just checing the Zones again i use about 71 Zones but the new one reads only 68. Is this a bug, or is it to make space to the 80 Ch. in the zones ?? the older CPS reads them ok .. all zones..

Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.2 ready for testing
Number of zones had to be decreased to 68 instead of 250 because there is only a fixed about of space in the codeplug for Zones.
71 zones seems a lot, can you post your codeplug, as I'm surprised you need that many
Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
Hey roger..
I’m reducing the zones, with 80 cha. In one zone it’s no problem, it’s Only 3 zones ill figure it out no problem... as I had an idea of that it was to Make room to Make the 80 cha. Pr. Zone..

Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
Roger,
I created my 42 channel Marine Band zone today and it uploaded to the GD77 without a hitch using CPS v0.0.0.3. The GD77 scans all the Marine Band channels in less than 3 seconds which makes scanning that band a breeze. While I was in the CPS I set the "Scan: All Skip" toggle for my weather band channels and it's a hoot now to watch the GD77 scan all 224 of my channels from top to bottom in about 10 seconds.
Great job with the new 80CH CPS along with everything else that has been done.

Re: OpenGD77 v 0.0.0.1 ready for testing
Hi Rob
I have been scanning the marine band , which is very active here because Melbourne is a major shipping port.
Like you say, it works really well.
Btw. I did some experiments and I seem to be able to increase the scan speed from 20 channels per second to 30 per sec and still have roughly the same level of detection sensitivity.
I was contemplating adding a scan speed setting, into the Options, because I see the official firmware has a scan step speed control.
I have also discussed with Colin, about why it can’t go any faster at the moment. Because above 30 channels per sec, it just stops working.
Colin has given me a few ideas about what I could change to make it go even faster.
I guess it depends if the signal is fading in and out. Because those sorts of signals need longer hold times, but it would be interesting to see the minimum hold time on a frequency where a S 5 signal would be detected
