Hi guys.
Here is the updated italian.h and wordlist_italian.csv files for the current development version 20122020:
italian.h+wordlist_italian.cvs_20122020.zip
(6.21 KiB) Downloaded 107 times
As always a big thank especially to you Roger and of course Daniel F1RMB for the time and resources you both spend on the whole community in order to provide bugs fix and new features, without forgetting all the people involved in the OpenGD77 project, though.
Many, many thanks!

73 best regards de Fabio IZ2EIB

Hi Peter and Fabio

Thanks.

I will update the CPS and make a new release

BTW.
Fabio

The CPS file is XML. Is the CSV for updated voice prompts?

Sorry.

I thought there was already an Italian translation file for the CPS

If you want to translate the CPS to Italian (which is a big job...), See the XML file in the Languages folder where the CPS is installed

Copy English.xml to Italian.xml and edit it.
Also you need to copy English.chm to Italian.chm, (help files), but its difficult to translate these, as they require decompiling of the CHM file using microsoft's help file tools. So most people don't bother and simply copy the English.chm file and don't translate it.

As soon as you add Italian.xml to the Languages folder and change line 6

https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... ish.xml#L6

To "Italian" then you the CPS will show Italian in the list of Languages. But you then need to translate all the Text="xxx"

e.g.

<Control Id="grpBootScreen" Text="Boot Screen" />

translate "Boot Screen" into Italian.

You didn't translate all the messages e.g.

<Item Id="Are_you_sure_you_want_to_restore_the_EEPROM_from_a_previously_saved_file" Text="Are you sure you want to restore the EEPROM from a previously saved file?" />

<Item Id="Are_you_sure_you_want_to_restore_the_Flash_memory_from_a_previously_saved_file" Text="Are you sure you want to restore the Flash memory from a previously saved file?" />

etc
