New GD77 Beta, and MD9600 Alpha - May 3rd 2022
Re: New GD77 Beta, and MD9600 Alpha - May 3rd 2022
No, At the moment you can't start the scan from the radio without the keypad microphone.
There was some talk of possibly allocating one of the P keys for this, but I don't think it has been done yet.
The user interface for the MD9600 is still not ideal, this is mainly because it tries to use the same code as the GD77 as much as possible. But the different button and key arrangements don't always suit.

Try this version
Long press the Up arrow on the front panel now starts the scan on the channel screen.
Note. I did not add the same functionality to the VFO screen.

BTW
There are some slight problems with using the front panel Up and Down to start the channel scan, becuase those keys are mapped to Right and Left on the mic, and on FM those keys control the squelch.
So on FM occasionally the squelch change popup appears when re-starting a scan.
Do do this functionality correctly we would need to have separate key events for the front panel, but that's not how the firmware is currently written.
Font panel Up and Down are converted to Right / Left for the VFO and Channel screen, and left as Up / Down for the menu's.

Hello,oe7abh wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 12:12 pmHello,
you have to be careful with Retevis.eu, they cannot deliver a new device at the moment. I ordered 1 month ago and received a used device - I sent it back! Still waiting for a new device !

i have not had good experiences with Retevis.eu in Germany (https://retevis.info/shop/) (RT90). I can only advise everyone to order a TYT MD9600, it works wonderfully!
The device is cheaper, very fast delivery, and some advantages: internal speaker cables are longer, volume control has a better control range!

Normally there are no hardware differences between the TYT version and the rebranded radios e.g. Retevis and Radioddity
The differences are usually only the firmware and CPS, where Retevis pay for customised version of firmware to suit specific markets e.g. Ham radio
