Radio ID with a leading 'zero'

Post by OE1MWW » Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:16 pm

Installed the latest CPS built date 2020.10.20 and loaded a code plug of a local
ham buddy of OE4 (Austria). In 'General Setting' 'Radio ID' there is all the time
a '0' (zero) in front of my ID. If I enter 7 digits, close and re-open, there is the
'0' in front.

In the digital Contact Call ID all Radio IDs entries are in 7 digits as usual.

So, now, is this a bug, or a feature ?

It's been that way as long as I have been using this software.
Perhaps they are allowing for a time when DMR ID's will need to be increased to 8 digits.

Just my thoughts.

DMR IDs are just 24 bit unsigned numbers. So they can have 8 digits, but the maximum value is 16777215. That is the largest number that can be represented with 24 bits.
