Calibration data

Post by do1jml » Sun Sep 27, 2020 5:16 pm

I am using the CPS "community edition" on a stock GD-77. I could change "analog mic gain" and it is saved in the GD-77. When I change the "analog TX deviation" - "overall gain", the value stays on "39" after save and read from the GD-77.

Is the problem known?

Background: other hams complained that my analog modulation is too low. I hoped that adjusting these values would improve things.

Also: it does not seem to be possible to save the calibration file on the computer.

The community CPS is no longer supported, and the calibration data was only ever a best guess about what the memory locations actually did, using the information that Jason VK7ZJA reverse engineered by changing values and looking at the results.

You could try going back to the original source information

And try using the FlashManager to read and write the raw data.

I finally got around using the flash manager. I am sorry, but whatever changes I enter into the radio are not saved. Everything appears to work as expected, except that when I read the content of the flash back, the values are back to what they were originally.

The official firmware may now be protecting the Calibration memory.
