Oh maybe I'm confused then, either way that's useful, but.... What is the noise that like the MD380 makes when you're not making a repeater?
Press the orange PTT switch on the side of the radio, if you hear an access permit tone – two short musical notes, you are successfully accessing the repeater and the timeslot/talk group you need is available. If you hear no tone or a long steady single tone, either you are out of range of the repeater or it is busy.
Random thing I found mentioning it, but this is how the MD380 and a few other DMR radios I've used behave; you get a confirmation tone if you're in the repeater and some kind of alert if you're not.
