OK.

This is probably being caused by very short transmissions.

Something to do with the code that handles the Tx Shutdown and aborting of the shutdown

What happens is that unlike normal MMDVM hotspots which are basically dumb and just retransmit a raw stream of data from the Net, the GD-77 Hotspot can't do that, because I don't have access to the 4FSK modulator section of the C6000

So. The Hotspot mode has process the raw data that is sent via the network, and decode it back into meaningful DMR data e.g. the IDs and TG's and call type and AMBE data and etc etc.

And the C6000 is configured with the TG and ID and sent the AMBE data and it converts it into 4FSK and transmits its it.

And when a signal ends, the C6000 has to go though a standard termination procedure for DMR transmissions, including sending the Link Termination frame(s)

When the incoming data buffer from the net is empty, i.e when the other station has finished transmitting, the Hotspot mode, has no more data to transmit, so puts the C6000 into its standard termination procedure...

But if the net then sends data during the 360mS that it takes to send the termination, I have to abort the termination, and switch back to sending the data QSO signal again, which will also involve sending a new Link Connect Voice Header, which also takes 360mS

I think somehow in this process of shutting down and having to restart my Hotspot control logic has a problem

Well first and foremost this is not the correct place for this issue. It is not the same topic. That being said, and I am just guessing, but have you tried pressing the black button above the blue button when turning the GD77 on. Hold that button for about 5 seconds when you turn it on and that will put the GD77 into hotspot mode.

Hey Roger,
I've been testing for the last two and a half days, with last FW before this latest one. This morning I have flashed latest.
Since then, there was less traffic then usual and I have not transmitted, so GD77 in hotspot mode stayed unused for quite some time and got stuck few times with TG0 on screen, no DMR ID, nor real TG, just TG0.
Nothing special, just some more findings...

No. Nothing to do with repeater. His HTs work fine on hotspot, just not on repeater.

OK but its off topic. Its not getting stuck in TX so his issue has nothing to do with the topic

Yes it does. His GD77 is in hotspot mode, as far as I understand, cause his English is not very good, and it suddenly displays TG0 on screen, so it is stuck. I have observed same behavior, if I don't transmit from my HT to GD77 in HS mode, then it gets stuck with TG0, but if I do transmit, it gets stuck with my callsign and last used TG.

One more thing, Roger, when GD77 in hotspot mode gets stuck with TG0, there is no indication in Pi-Star dashboard that it is stuck, unlike the other variant.

With the most recent 12/4/2019 firmware update, I continue to see Pi-Star itermittently lockup in TX. Once it is stuck in this mode, it will no longer respond to signals being received by the radio.

The transmitter is not left in transmit during this, and it takes a reinitialize of Pi-Star to start to communicate with the radio again.

Its on my To Do list, but at the moment I'm swamped with updates from people most days, and don't have time to focus on this lockup issue.
