Hi,
so first thing first, can you share the codeplug you flashed in the DM-1801 ?
Have you used the latest CPS for OpenGD77, available here ?
Also, according of what you wrote in the opening post about a weird picture, you should double check if the value of "Intro Screen" in the "Boot Item" tree item is set to "Char String".
Maybe to stop the boot loop, you need to go back to the official firmware version, and flash an old codeplug (I'm attaching the original pristine one I have).

I have the official firmware on (2.2.1) reloaded on there, but with the open77 "does not work" firmware, i did set it to text only, but same result.
when installing the latest, it went to boot looping,
I tried to clear the whole radio memory out of the eeprom, but before doing that, i did manage to save it incase the developers wanted to look at it and maybe help.
