[Not a bug] New channel edits not being saved

Post by DU2XXR » Tue Mar 24, 2020 1:37 pm

1. Under VFO mode, I saved analog frequency settings to new channel
2. Switched to channel mode.
3. FN-Green to edit channel details including name.
4. Pressed Green to save.
5. Item is renamed.
6. But when I switch channels, the item above is still "New Channel 35"

I'm using March 15 firmware bc46565

4. Pressed Green to save.
This recently changed. Now you need to press Blue+Green to get the change written to the codeplug.

I had to change this to Function + Green, because many people were accidentally writing changes to the codeplug.

The original functionality I wrote required Function + Green, but it was removed (I can't remember why). However its much safer this way.

The only thing which does not follow this rule, and we need to improve it. Is when the VFO is imported into the Channel.

We should display a warning message, because this overwrites the current Channel and saves to the codeplug

Thanks for the update. I listed this in the documentation to-do.

Also, regarding overwriting channels, that's a good idea, so we don't accidentally overwrite our existing channel details.
