Hi, I have been running the 13 frame experimental firmware from Roger for about 9 hours without problem.

The RFI in the USB is a definite possibility. I'm using my GD-77 on the charger full time. When it's in transmit, you always see the charger light shift to yellow and flash - so it's a RF rich environment.

This time, I have the usb and power cables looped slightly in 10cm flat loops on the desk. The adapter cable connection USB to MicroUSB for the PiZeroW is inside the circle.

I'll look to see if I have any ferrite beads that I can wrap the USB to GD77 cable or USB adapter cable in.

Another possible difference between my setup and others is that I am using the CWID at 9 minute intervals.

Update: I've just ordered some ferrite filters to install on the USB cable.

Marc

Okay. I'm using CWID too, 10 minutes rate.

Could you, next time you have the problem (before doing anything else), just login on your RPi, and do that:

rpi-rw
dmesg > /home/pi-star/dmesg.txt
rpi-ro

and send me that file ?

Cheers.

Will do. I'll be loading the 2/21 version firmware shortly, and will gather the DMESG data should this fail.

The 2/21 version is dumping out within a couple of minutes of booting.

I've placed the DMESG files (two failures) here:

I really can't get it to fail... Listening TG91 whole day, including CQWW... Still holding strong.

I've installed a torroid choke around both the power feed and signal feed USB connections to the Pi Zero W.

Now we'll see if it dumps out of hotspot mode...
