[Fixed] OpenGD77 with analogue split repeters problem
[Fixed] OpenGD77 with analogue split repeters problem
Hi to all,
I use the latest firmware version:
In my area, usually I use an analog crossband repeter (called also transponder repeter).
Input in 145Mhz Out in 431Mhz.
I have successfully saved the “splitted” frequency on the memories with OpenCPS, it works fine but:
When I move to my splitted memory channel I can not recive anything if previously I haven’t pushed the PTT button.
It seems that phusing the PTT button “Wake Up” the GD77.
In normal repeaters memories (only one band) all works fine.
Thanks

Re: OpenGD77 with analogue split repeters problem
Hi Roger, same problem here with another transponder repeater with vhf input and uhf output.
The repeater is inserted into memory by cps (latest version). If you select that channel initially nothing is received, but if you press the ptt for a second, it seems to unlock the rx and start receiving on that channel. If you move to another channel and go back to that of the transponder is stored, the radio does not receive again until you press the ptt again, this happens even if you set the frequencies of rx and tx from vfo.
Obviously I have the latest firmware version of December 14th.

Ok.
I will investigate

Re: OpenGD77 with analogue split repeters problem
I can't replicate this problem.
I setup a channel with Rx 145.500 and Tx 439.1250
Uploaded the codeplug, set the radio to that channel, and it works fine on both Tx and Rx. I also rebooted the radio so that this channel is loaded when it boots and the channel also worked fine.
I presume this is and FM channel?
Can you tell me the exact frequencies you use, or post your codeplug and tell me which channel does not work

Re: OpenGD77 with analogue split repeters problem
Hi Roger,
the channel is programmed to transmit in vhf and receive in uhf tone squelch 77 only on tx. You can find it in the codeplug Full italian V2 which I posted in the appropriate section of the forum. The repeater name is "PIETRAMORA" ( in FM Channel)
here the link for the codeplug:
download/file.php?id=156&sid=01275fa850 ... 2a0a20f077
frequency to set radio: on TX 145.3625 tone 77hz
on RX 431.5875 without tone squelch

Re: OpenGD77 with analogue split repeters problem
Roger,
When a crossband channel is initially selected it is actually receiving but at reduced sensitivity.
When PTT is pressed and released the sensitivity returns to normal.
This is because the wrong Rx Preamp is initially being selected by trxSetFrequency(), it is basing the selection on the Tx frequency instead of the Rx frequency.
I have raised a PR with the fix.
Colin.

Colin
Thanks.
That explains why I could not replicate the bug using another GD-77 as signal
I will double check your PR and then merge
