[External hardware problem] RS-24 speaker mic weirdness

Post by NC3Z » Fri Oct 16, 2020 9:17 pm

I have a pair of GD77's running the 01 Oct build. Both radios when I connect a RS-24 mic I get no TX audio unless I use the radio's PTT. Using the mic's PTT the red TX led comes on and stays on but the receiving radio just sees my ID pop up for second and go away. Checking the RF out you will see the RF come up for a couple 100mS and then go away. This happens on a DMR repeater or DMR Simplex, VHF or UHF, 50mW or 5W.

Now if I do this on a analog channel the speaker mic PTT works as it should so I am confident the mics are good. This happens with both radios and both mics in any combo.

This is a duplicate post

Colin G4ELM already answered this question.

The PTT in you mic also connects the audio.

This is a hardware problem with your speaker mic
