RD-5R sub channel
RD-5R sub channel
Hi, new to the FW and Forum. Downloaded and installed on RD-5R and after a bit of CPS channel fiddling, got it working pretty good. However, I see no way on the radio or the user guide to invoke the sub channel, maybe this is just a limitation of the FW, not sure. Also, is there a way to toggle monitor/promiscuous mode?
Re: RD-5R sub channel
Is there another name for the "sub channel" you're referring to? Or could you describe what you're talking about?
Maybe you mean Dual Watch (having two channels on the same screen)? If so, that's not supported in OpenGD77.
As to promiscuous mode, have a look at https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... r-dmr-only

Re: RD-5R sub channel
FYI.
What most radios call promiscuous mode is actually 2 levels of filtering
CC,TS (to filter by Colour Code and the selected timeslot)
The OpenGD77 can operate in a super promiscuous without even filtering by TimeSlot or Colour Code

Re: RD-5R sub channel
HI, I am new in here, callsign: SM7OYE! GD-77 was my first DMR radio and I still like to use it!
Trying to learn more about what features it can have!

Re: RD-5R sub channel
Oh, thanks so much, I did not get the idea of filtering, I do now!
on the previous post about "sub channels", yes another name would be dual watch, so thanks for confirming it is not supported

Re: RD-5R sub channel
The RD-5R version is highly experimental and has bugs.
Output power should not be set to more than 1W because this will output 5W.
The frequency is also incorrect by around 1kHz, but I do not know what is causing these problems
There is some difference in the radio hardware, and we do not have any schematics
