Hello from the Western Burbs of Chicago

Post by K9RPL » Tue Apr 07, 2020 4:04 pm

Greetings from the beautiful Fox Valley!

Been licensed since 1976 but not too active the past several years and last year got the itch again.

I'm an old school analog guy that has been having a lot of fun getting to know DMR. First DMR radio is DM-1801 and now an XPR7550 that I carry with me almost everywhere. I've been following the OpenGD77 group for a while and was very pleased to see the port to the DM-1801.

Next to my 7550 my favorite is my trusty 1801 and even better now with Open1801 firmware on it.

Hat's off to Roger and crew for a terrific effort!

Hello!

My uncle Jim (K9RJ, SK) was a Ham of some reputation in Downer's Grove, not too much closer to Chicago from where you are. Welcome to the community!

Hello from an ex-Evanston resident, now in North Carolina.

You'll like working with OpenGD77 and the great team behind the work.
