Hi from Marc, KD2LH in Wake Forest, NC.

I have a couple of GD77 radios I've been holding for use in testing the OpenGD77 firmware in hotspot mode. Looking forward to helping as I can.

Marc

Just a quick note... I have OpenGD77 up and running from the R0.0.72 version using a Pi4B running Pi-Star R4.1.0 RC6.

So far, it appears stable. I've used it in QSOs already to Europe on our 98977 Talkgroup on Brandmeister.

What is the preferred method for powering the GD-77 while it's being used as a MMDVM host? So far, I've left it in the charger.

I leave mine in the charger all the time.

I made a external speaker mic thingy, which I made out of 2 cheap speaker mic's and a set of PC speakers, which I hooked together.

Currently we have not implemented any power saving features, so the firmware uses around 50mA all the time.
