I found out what the GD stands for. Live from Colorado. Hope to get this GD77 programmed after all.

I've no idea why the radio sold via Radioddity is called a GD-77

The hardware is actually a TYT MD-760, its just rebranded and sold outside of China by Radioddity as a GD-77
