Bay Area California
Bay Area California
Hi All,
I am returning to Amateur Radio after a few years off (~25). I've been dusting off and fixing all my old kit and finding out what's changed.
Just getting in to DMR with a new GD-77 and as I consider setting it up, I found OpenGD77!
I will be pondering the best way to set up the radio today - do I start with the "factory" firmware or jump to OpenGD77. Any advice on this would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott, W1MVY

Re: Bay Area California
The factory firmware is very restrictive especially when used in an amateur radio scenario. OpenGD77 has been written specifically for amateur use. I would recommend going straight to OpenGD77.

Thanks Colin. As I looked at the OpenGD77 feature-set, that was my initial thought.
