Hello from KC4VJO

Post by KC4VJO » Tue Aug 18, 2020 6:07 pm

Hello all. I've had my license for nearly 30 years, but talking to strangers on the radio never appealed to me, so I've never been all that active. I got interested in DMR and now am the proud owner of a Baofeng DM-1801.

I'm well-versed in reflashing smartphones. I thought I should learn a little more about my radio before I try custom firmware.

Okay, even though I've had this radio for only a few hours, I went ahead and reflashed it. OMG, so much better! Everyone should do this right out of the box.

Welcome to the project. It's a testament to the power of open technology, and the prowess involved in reverse engineering a very complex C-6000 chip "black box"...

You'll be impressed with what you can do with your radio now!
