Hi
Hi
Zl1XE newly relicensed after 40 years off. (Thanks Covid19.)
Sorry I registered here and did not use my callsign
Got an 1801 after seeing the openGD77 work done so far. Well done, Brilliant.
Now trying to get the software onto it but can't get the usb drivers to install.
I tried doing it first through OpenGD77CPSInstaller.exe.
Then through a shell calling wdi-simple.exe from inside the right directory.
- window says its trying but then closes after a few minutes (timeout?) and no further info in the shell I called it from.
When running FirmwareLoader.exe or OpenGD77CPSInstaller.exe it can't see the radio in my usb3 port (laptop).
Any idea on how I find out if the driver installed or not ?
Cheers, Mark...

Re: Hi
Welcome Mark
I updated your username...
You don't need the USB drivers to install in order to load the firmware.
After you have installed the firmware, the radio should appear as a Com device named "OpenGD77"
Look in the device manager.

Re: Hi
(LOL)
OK.
Ah. I tried not pressing the buttons on my DM-1801, but it was already running the Open firmware, and would therefore not respond on USB.
However because the official firmware uses USB HID to transfer the codeplug data, it must be using the same USB HID ident code in the bootloader as in the official firmware application

Re: Hi
Hi Colin.
Working on one but I know my repeater info is not up-to-date. Seen some nzart posts about changes to the existing maps.
PM me and lets work one up.
I think it'd be useful to have Emcomm zones and regular zones for the whole country. I'm too far away personally from any DMR repeaters but you are surrounded
I think some clubs might like to carry a few DM-1801s spec'd up for emergencies.
