I missed that part of the post. If you are talking about the official firmware then the answer regarding safe power on is irrelevant.
We can't really help much with the official firmware.

Re: GD-77 Please help - Radio hangs permanently
The safe power on option may be set. This prevents the radio from being accidentally turned on. Hold SK1 while powering on in this condition. You can then change the Safe Power On option in the general options menu. Personally I think this option is more trouble than it is worth but I guess someone ...

Re: RT3S
Please carefully re-read the installation instructions.
You must have a copy of the donor firmware available on your PC. Download it from here
https://www.passion-radio.com/index.php ... chment=760
It only needs to be on your PC ,do not try to load it into the radio.

Re: 1701 Timeout on pressing the PTT
When you attempt to transmit to a repeater that is idle the radio sends a brief 'wakeup' burst and then listens for the repeater. If this fails it tries again a couple of times and then gives up and displays the timeout message. So, if you are seeing timeout it means that either the repeater is not ...

Re: Display flip when keying
Remove and reseat both ends of the ribbon cable between the radio and the display. These are known to go intermittent sometimes. Also make sure your antenna is well away from the radio, RF feedback can do strange things. Make sure your power supply is man enough, the radio can take up to 10 Amps on ...

Re: MD-9600 Microphone Number Entry - Mixed
I have seen a similar problem in the past. It turned out to be a badly crimped microphone connector which had high resistance on one of the button signals. Wiggling the cable and connector would change the fault. As Roger said the microphone switches different resistors to ground to indicate the row...

Re: Spurious emissions
I don't know if anyone has recorded the results of any tests. The performance will be the same with openGD77 as it is with the official firmware. The filtering is fixed in hardware so the firmware can have no effect. We do know that the experimental 220MHz support on the GD77 has a very poor output ...

Re: How to adjust output power
This is a limitation of the microphone hardware. It is not possible to detect two keys pressed at the same time. Hence we had to use 'long press D and release' to toggle the shift function.

The original calibration data is already used by OpenGD77 so what you suggest has already been done automatically.

Re: Digital simplex and private calls.
With the latest firmware release private call reception is now consistent with the DMR filter setting.
With DMR filter turned OFF you will hear all private calls.
With DMR filter set to TG or TGL you will only hear private calls addressed to your ID.
