Re: Radio not activating local FM repeater (small subtone deviation)
As you say it also do not work with the original firmware on several radios then it would tend to suggest that the repeater in question requires a higher than normal deviation for successful CTCSS decode. The fact that it worked when switching to 25KHz spacing would tend to support that. Are you sur...

Re: Keypad light
That sounds like a cracked track or bad solder joint. Probably the only answer would be to remove the keypad, inspect and repair it.

Re: Initial source code release
It looks like it is a know and reported issue.

The work around is to replace all occurrences of caddr_t with void* in system.c
Colin.

Re: Repeater Timeout when trying to transmit
In answer to your second question. There is no ACK as such from the repeater. The radio just looks for the repeaters transmission which is detected by looking for valid sync words. If the repeater is in standby (not transmitting) the calling radio sends a very short 'wakeup' burst. If the repeater h...

The GD77 only has a black and white display. Colour themes make no sense for that.

Re: Retevis RT-3S "Settings Updated" screen on boot
This was a problem with all STM32 type radios, the internal backup battery does not last long so the battery RAM and real time clock gets lost. We have updated the firmware to save its settings in flash instead of battery RAM. You will now not see the Update settings message but you may notice your ...

Re: Transmit mode
It should not make any difference but it might be worth doing a settings reset just to make sure there is nothing strange there. Hold down the SK2 key when turning on. Then press Green to accept the update and then select your language. One thing to note is that the VOX setting is on a per channel b...

Re: Channel knob
As you say it is down to the low quality of the components. The rotary encode has two outputs which should change at defined points during each click. However sometimes this timing is wrong and this can get interpreted as a click in the wrong direction. We have tried various software algorithms to d...
