FYI
I opened my MD2017 today and I will try to find all the pin connections to the STM32
Edit
It looks like the connections to the Flash chip are on the same pins as the UV380 etc

Re: CPS Channel Import and Flags
Use the tool written by Colin G4EML, so convert coxeplugs to and from CSV
I will eventually remove the CSV functions from the CPS

Re: DM-1701 received today
Received my Baofeng DM-1701 yesterday. One thing I didn't thought about was that it would be an US charger in the box, but I found a US-EU plug converter in my junkbox. Wonder why they use 10 V/1A and not 12V ?, maybe the charger base can handle 12 V ? And that curved display cover is not the best,...

Re: Firmware installation instructions
Follow the TYT MD UV380 / Retevis RT-3S instructions https://www.opengd77.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2380 Except select DM-1701/ RT-84 as the radio Official 'donor' firmware is the same as the UV380 Note that the path to latest firmware now is https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/MDUV380_DM1701/Firmwar...

Re: Initial source code release
BTW. Jlink will not work unless you hack the bootloader to prevent it reprotecting the MCU. Also the bootloader configures all pins except USB to be GPIO and this kills SWD. And. The SWD pins are used to cotrol the hardware :-(, So you need to modify the pin initialisation to prevent the SWD pins fr...

Re: Initial source code release
Thank you so much! I downloaded everything today and built it and it seems to work fine. I also extracted the codec binary section from an MCU dump in case I need to use the JLink for debugging. I'm currently cleaning the code, removing unused functions, etc. and trying to investigate a couple mino...

Re: TYT MD-2017 Teardown
I did not open my radio yet, but I wrote a small test program to toggle each GPIO pin And it seems that the Red and Green LEDs are on the same pins PE0 and PE1 Display backlight is connected to PE4 which is different from the UV380 / DM1701 which uses this pin for SPI data transfer to the C6000 I th...

Re: Progress of opengd77 on DM1702
Additionally, It is not just the hardware which has to be reverse engineered The firmware encryption also needs to be cracked I did a quick search and found this https://github.com/OK2MOP/MD1702-tools But I can't see any encryption key data I also checked RadioTool https://github.com/v0l/radio_tool ...

Re: Where to buy a MD-2017
BTW Does anyone have a link to the latest MD-2017 official firmware, either the TYT or Retevis version, i.e RT-84 Retevis seems to have removed the downloads for the RT-84 from their website and I can't find a copy elsewhere I have some here: https://www.sa0bux.se/Ham/RT84/ 2.03 was the latest FW I...
