Re: Rx wider frequency range

I really like this release. I found that by setting the FM MIC level to 3 the GD77 matched the FM transmit audio level of my CS-800D which gets very good reports on FM. Both of my GD77's were noticeably anemic with their default FM transmit level setting of 1. My newer GD77 (DEC 2019) and my older G...

Re: Hello from Connecticut!

Hello Tom, Welcome to the forum. You picked a great radio for tinkering and pure enjoyment as the GD-77 gives a lot of bang for your bucks, especially with the OpenGD77 firmware. In addition to being a fine ham radio HT for digital and analog use, the GD-77 also does a fine job as a public service s...

Re: Pre-release 11th April

Hi Roger, With the April 11 pre-release the squelch behaves normally with FM, FMN, and DMR on both of my GD77 radios. The VFO scan/search implementation is very nice and easy to use. I think this looks like a really fine release. My thanks to you and the other developers who sorted it all out! 73, R...

Re: Pre-release 9th April

Roger, I've installed the April 10 build and it is working normally here while monitoring or scanning FM and FMN. No sign of the squelch sputtering on any signals, with or without CTCSS enabled. I think you have narrowed down the cause of the problem. Your explanation makes sense because all 3 of th...

Re: Pre-release 9th April

Same here Roger. The marine band is dead and in fact I have not seen any private craft offshore at all. Not sure what the summer up here will bring but I am hopeful that things will start returning to normal in the coming months. I just spotted your email from earlier. Are you able to replicate what...

Re: Pre-release 9th April

Hi Roger, It doesn't seem to happen on all VHF and UHF frequencies. In the VHF public service band here, both of my radios will exhibit the sputtering squelch on the local police frequency of 155.610 MHz. Also, in the UHF public service band the EMS dispatch frequencies of 462.950 MHz and 462.975 wi...

Re: Pre-release 9th April

Roger, Thanks for the April 9 release. Installed it on both of my GD77 radios but unfortunately they both still exhibit the squelch sputtering issue that appeared with the April 4 release. It occurs with FM and FMN when scanning or even monitoring a single frequency. Note that the problem is present...

Re: Talkgroup filter to RX Group

What happens if you eliminate the unwanted talkgroup(s) from your TG list and then using the top button to access the Filter options enable TG to add it to the default CC and TS filters?

Re: Prerelease 4th April

Hi Roger, I loaded the April 3 2020 [6b61afe] version into both of my GD77 radios and immediately noticed that both radios seemed to break the squelch persistently while scanning FMN or FM, or even when parked on a quiet channel with or without the antenna installed. Note that the "busy" light does ...
