Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity
Hi Roger, I loaded the scan_speed_test_v3 firmware (3-39-2021) into both GD77s and it works fine for me with both radios. I'll do some scan tests here with both radios at 30ms, 60ms, 90ms and 120ms to see what differences in scanning behavior might appear. I did notice at 30ms that when I scan my DM...

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity
Hi Roger,
Just a quick comment to say that the present implementation works beautifully. The 30ms increments are easy to understand and they provide a lot of range in the settings for the user to experiment with. Maybe it's not necessary to change what you have already created?
Thanks, Rob W1AEX

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity
Hi Roger, After doing separate sessions of FM scanning and DMR scanning I can see that both of my GD77 radios scan stop reliably on the first pass with a setting of 90ms. That being said, after watching them closely they do a really good job at 60 ms and 30ms too with very few instances where they d...

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity
Thank you Roger. I installed the second version and both GD77s are now scanning the same analog zone which has a mix of different public service agencies (police/fire/ems) along with four marine channels. One radio has the 3/21/2021 firmware version that is fixed at the 30 ms scan step and the other...

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity
Thank you Roger. It works like a champ! I loaded it just before heading off to bed so I have not given it a real run yet but I tried it with a setting of 210ms and it stopped perfectly with a moderately weak FM signal first thing. The implementation is very slick. I will give it a good run tomorrow ...

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity
Hi Roger, A user setting option for scan speed is a very interesting idea. Both of my GD77 units are used heavily in scan mode for FM listening (ham, public service, marine, and the local c-med frequencies) and they scan at a rate that is lightning fast, which is a good thing in my opinion. At the c...

Re: New ongoing "Development" version has been created
I loaded the 1/30/2021 developmental firmware into one of my GD77 radios and what I hear on DMR coming back with parrot is perfectly clean. Both of my GD77 radios have always exhibited a very low level of the reported helicopter noise so this version seems to have eliminated it on the radio I instal...

Re: New ongoing "Development" version has been created
Just a quick note to say that I loaded the 1/19/2021 firmware release into one of my GD77's yesterday and ran it most of the day. It behaved fine with all the usual tasks I use it for. This morning I loaded the same firmware into my second GD77 and it is behaving fine as well. Looks like a nice rele...

Re: New ongoing "Development" version has been created
I loaded the Oct 30 2020 [16:50:01] build on both of my GD77 radios and the features I use are working well. I have not yet tried out the new VFO A/B Dual Watch feature but the idea is very clever and will certainly be useful to me out in the field. By the way this update was the first time I loaded...
