I found this guide to GD-77 hacks & tips and thought to share if anyone is interested.

This issue is now resolved. I simply updated my opengd77 firmware and the issue disappeared.

That's all I had to do!

Thank you for the replies and added detail! However, the issue I have still remains. I cannot see callsigns on my OpenGD77 handheld when I get into QSO's or simply just listen. I did a search on screenshot limitations for this forum and didn't find anything. I was puzzled why a screenshot with a file size of only 30kb would not be allowed to be uploaded.

What are the exact file limits we need to adhere to?

So it sounds that in this case it would need to be handled essentially the same way as with the stock firmware. Stuff like this takes serious consideration and planning.
