Re: Open RD5R: FM-squelch is not memorized
Can you try holding the blue key while you press the green key to confirm the change? By default changes are temporary and you need to hold the blue key while confirming the change to tell the radio to write it back to the codeplug.

GitHub Discussions
GitHub announced today that they're adding a Discussions feature for projects. This could replace this phpBB forum if desired. Would have some drawbacks like needing to be logged in to GitHub (instead of here) and not necessarily having your callsign as your User ID. But would also have some advanta...

Re: RD-5R sub channel
Is there another name for the "sub channel" you're referring to? Or could you describe what you're talking about? Maybe you mean Dual Watch (having two channels on the same screen)? If so, that's not supported in OpenGD77. As to promiscuous mode, have a look at https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne...

Re: NA7Q - Unofficial Firmware Build [4/24][GD-77]
Hi Mike, Thanks. Wasn't it possible to return the long press up arrow in channnel mode to scrolling again, rahter than start scanning? I'm purely curious; what's the issue? Before long press up just slowly went up through the list right? Seems a lot more useful to have scan attached to it. Also the...

Re: VE2XPM - How to get started with development?
Hi David, There's a feature requests section on the board you could browse through to see if one of the missing features interests you. A lot of mentions of Vox recently and some discussion on how it might be done but no word that anyone is working on it yet. Working on a feature like that would exp...

Re: 1801 or GD 77
This thread has some opinions on that: https://opengd77.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=673#p5861 Specifically this note: The Baofeng radios seem to have worse RF performance than the GD-77. I have seen some spectrum analysis plots of the RF Tx from a Baofeng RD-5R and it was quite dirty. Hard to say if tha...

Serial debug log?
I've had to use USB_DEBUG_printf a few times and while PuTTY works fine (and RealTerm would probably work too) it's inconvenient to reconnect it and I thought it would be useful if the CPS had a feature that would log serial messages coming from the radio.

Re: DMR TGID length??
The talkgroup ID is a 24 bit number, which means that technically you could have an 8 digit number (as long as the first digit is 1) but the normative standards on how to use and interpret talkgroups only use 7 digits, reserving some special values for special meanings.
Re: Linux...?
I've used G4EML's codeplug utilities on Linux. Not a CPS, but frankly I'd rather use .csv files than a CPS anyway.
