Re: DMR issue, red flashes and does ne tx

Do you have "private call confirmed" or "data call confirmed" in use? If so, DMR does a handshake at the beginning of transmission. I know you're accessing a repeater, but later if you put in a hot spot it has the ability to be "private" and only respond to radios transmitting your own radio id. The...

Re: Voice prompts

Hi Roger, thanks for your work on Voice Prompts. All I can say is, "WOW!". Is this a first for an amateur DMR HT? I know Motorola has it on commercial XPR7550a radios, but have not seen it on a DMR designed for ham use? I have the American English voice loaded. Firmware at 6/3 unstable update. The l...

Re: DMR Enthusiast

You could try a headphone in the remote speaker mic jack... It might help you determine if the radio has any audio. I think that these radios do get some form of testing an quality control, plus much of the assembly is likely fixture based and to some extent automated. There isn't much budget for do...

Re: Access DMR TG over different DMR repeaters and settings

Note that it applies to channels with group call settings, but yet - OpenGD77 allows you to define a group list, associate it with one channel (where frequency, color code, time slot - channel characteristics are defined) and then page through all the group IDs in the talk group list. I have to setu...

Re: Which version CPS ?

Roger developed two CPS programs. One (the GD77 Community Edition CPS) is for use with programming the GD77 with standard factory firmware. The other (OpenGD77 CPS) is for use programming the GD77, DM1801 and RD5R with OpenGD77, OpenDM1801 and OpenRD5R firmware installed inside the radio (replacing ...

Re: new member

Welcome to the project. We have a number of radio amateurs from the Philippines here on the group.

From what I'm told, you have good access to the Chinese DMR radios and at good prices. Excellent. Enjoy the ride!

Re: DM1801

Install the OpenGD77 CPS (it runs with all the radios supported by OpenGD77 / OpenDM1801 and OpenRD5R firmwares.

You should find information on this site on how to use it. The Firmware load facility is under the "Extras" pulldown. Remember to use the correct USB cable with your radio.

Re: Hello from Zagreb, Croatia

Welcome to a great open technology project.

You'll enjoy your new radio on DMR, especially with the open firmware.

Make sure to read what you can, and use the OpenGD77 version of CPS with the Firmware once it's been installed in the radio.

In the US, Ebay is listing the radio at similar prices shipped from China.

Re: Wrong power and battery level!

Relative to battery level, I think that this has already been discussed on this forum, and it may relate to the charging strategy used by the inexpensive TYT charger.
