New build is up.

I was able to successfully upgrade the firmware. However it did not resolve the issue. I surely won't be buying another one of those boards. The different style one I have is good all around. I have another on the way. We'll see if the quality is as good as the first one I purchased.

This is one of my replacements. It's another POG variant. They come with newer firmware installed though. I've had no problems at all with this board, especially in tuning the audio. It's been a good board. These are more popular and easier to find online. They are cheap, but I really can't complain...

Thanks for the extra info. I have ordered a dongle and it will arrive in just a couple days. We have local stock here from Amazon, but the shipping is slower due to the covid stuff going on. I'll try reflashing it this weekend. I did find newly compiled firmware for it. So that'll save me some time.

BTW. I've also tried to build a repeater using some FM radios and a MMDVM board, but gave up in the end, because my old / cheap MMDVM board (which uses a STM32F1xxx IC), was a complete nightmare to setup the Tx modulation.
