CPS Channel Import and Flags
Greetings! The channel csv import feature in the CPS has Flags columns but also represents some of those bits as separate columns such as Bandwidth and Rx Only. The Flags can also represent some other data that's not represented elsewhere in the csv, but I'm not sure those bits are used by the curre...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
This was the only open source community radio firmware in a well usable state. It stopped being open source when the maintainers stopped sharing the source code. I never wanted the project to die, I only wanted it open again. GPL does not seem to allow any additional conditions of use to be applied...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
Yep, we ALL know it isn't first time... For sure! I definitely took the license to mean what it says. Any new comments about "OpenGD"?? I drafted a comment about the CPS, but I had decided not to post it. When shall we spect for your global talk to users?? No plans for any global talk. Yes, I reali...

Re: Legalese for distributing OpenGD77 firmware
However be aware the license on some of the loader code is not "open source". Its included in the repo, but its copyright me or others. D.6 of the GitHub terms of Service is what makes it clear that code you add to a repository with a license is considered to be under that license. Some of the firm...

Re: Licence change?
Then you must supply sources for the AMBE codec. I disagree, but I confess my opinion on this one is not quite as informed as other areas of this license. At the bottom of section 3 of the GPL there's an exception: However, as a special exception, the source code distributed need not include anythi...

Re: Licence change?
I downloaded a copy of the OpenGD77 firmware dated April 3, 2021. As per the GPL-2 licence, I request a copy of the source code used to compile that version. Hi Eric, I have a clone of the code Roger uploaded to comply with my own request here: https://github.com/ajorg/OpenGD77 I also plan to take ...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
What in the hell the word " Copyright " is doing here ?! GPLv2/3 are Copyleft . From https://www.gnu.org/licenses/copyleft.en.html Copyleft is a way of using the copyright on the program. It doesn't mean abandoning the copyright; in fact, doing so would make copyleft impossible. The “left” in “copy...

Re: Licence change?
Can one of you lawyers tell me whether I'm allowed to compile special versions and install them for a disabled Ham at my local club. Standard disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. If I make changes to the way the buttons work, to make it easier for him to use the radio, am I r...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
Now this project will be sold commercially. Not by me, or by anyone I know of. I had to port the code to C from C++, and kept the copyright lines out of courtesy to the original authors. https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.en.html#TranslateCode "The translation is covered by the copyright on the o...
