Re: CPS Update

General question. Is it recommended to uninstall previous versions first or is it ok to install over the previous version?

Thanks again for your great work. It's been an interesting ride so far. Both I and another friend have enjoyed this software/firmware.

Umm. Thats strange.

What's the build date on the CPS ?
The about tab does not say but the meta data said v 1.0.0.0
Look for the build date in the CPS title bar. Example: OpenGD77 CPS (Build date 20200627)
Thanks, I didn't notice it. It's time for an update.

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

I still could not use the CPS to load the firmware but I got it loaded with the standalone firmware updater. I also loaded the voice prompt. Everything seems good so far. Thanks for the excellent work! There are a lot of blind hams following this project including at least one friend of mine. He wa...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

Where did you find that firmware ? Has some else provided a link. The latest firmware is at https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/OpenGD77/releases as described in the FAQ and other places If you have loaded firmware which is nearly 2 months old it will have other problems, and you will need to fo...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

Are you using the latest firmware and latest CPS ? To the best of my knowledge the CPS is up to date but it does not have a version number in the about window. When I look at the file properties it claims to be 1.0.0.0 I only recently downloaded it. The firmware according to the RD-5R is April 11 2...

Re: Voice prompts

Perhaps I'm just dense so forgive me. I managed to get the voice prompts loaded but I can't find a way to activate them. I've read many pages from this thread. I tried pushing the SK1 button but that doesn't seem to do it. I'm trying to figure everything out for a fellow Ham that's blind. Thanks in ...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

My RD-5R is around 1050 hz too high. I tried adjusting the reference oscillator as someone else suggested but the frequency doesn't seem to move. Any thoughts?

New here. Hello all!

I have a friend and fellow ham that has already tried this firmware but he needs a little help with the codeplug. I'm currently figuring out the process of converting his old codeplug to the new format. There are a few spots in the csv file I'm not sure how to populate yet so I'm doing some reading ...
