Re: AGC control received audio

That AGC algorithm is used by Analog_Bridge of DVSwitch, and is pretty reasonable, so long as you can also adjust it's output back to the DAC post-AGC. This is mainly just a topic bump, as I'd love to see digital mode AGC on both sides of this radio. However, many GD77's I've heard are prone to some...

audio anomaly at the start of digital transmissions

Every GD77 running the OpenGD77 firmware that I've heard on the air, or that I've used myself does this. At the start of digital transmissions, there is a very audible "woosh" sound. If a transmission is particularly short, or if there is a loud enough constant sound going on in the transmitter's ac...

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

Reckon we could make a voice pack with Espeak... That would be trivial to do. The harder part will be equalizing it for maximum intelligibility. All the tools are there, just need to find the right values to put in. I actually think eSpeak, properly tweaked, would do quite well. Call me crazy. Go o...

Watching with much interest! Anyone have a DoubleTalk or Accent synthesizer? I will happily take anything as long as it isn’t iOS Fred. 😀
I actually have both a Doubletalk and an Accent SA. I don't think they'll translate too well to DMR, though.

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

Right, although I am building voice packs myself using offline resources. Anyway, it looks like the wordlist was updated a few hours ago. Thanks, Roger. I and some others are working on super fast voice prompts for those who want them, using formant-based TTS, so it should come out clearer than conc...

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

Further to my reply about the blind hams network: If your friend has a local repeater capable of Allstar connectivity, they can connect to Allstar node 50631. It's not digital, per say, the way DMR is. Allstar is generally analog radio to radio, using VoIP to link nodes together. Under the right con...

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

I noticed the latest firmware (June 15) has more voice prompts. However, it doesn't look like the English wordlist has been updated on github. Is this, in fact, the case, or am I missing something obvious? I'd like to update my RC-850 voice to include the new speech verbosity prompts while I'm fixin...

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

Hi: I run the bridge for that network. We are not on UK Phoenix as of now. I don't know anything about that network or it's policies, but I will look into getting this network connected there if possible. We are currently on Brandmeister and TGIF, TG31679 on both networks. Assuming UK Phoenix allows...

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

Roger: Thanks for that. Noted, and I'll change the file extension in the .zip, and fix some small issues I discovered, probably tomorrow.

Re: Sight impaired amateurs

I recently got my GD77, and, to that end, I decided to try making a voice pack on my own. Thus, with lots of editing to make new words exist, I created a voice based on the ACC RC-850 repeater controller, well-known by many hams. This, in turn, was based on a widely distributed voice from Texas Inst...
