Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED

Salut Daniel, here is the link to the registers files (original one when I installed OpenGD77 and current one): https://disk.yandex.com/d/YVdM3s3fLSWoAg In this directory I have also put a photograph of the label of the radio unter the battery. Unfortunately, I have not checked output power before I...

Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED

I have an MD-UV-390 10 W which I bought around one month ago. It is the version for which the Aliexpress advertisement says that the original firmware has AES256 encryption. It works perfectly well with OpenGD77. The last version I have installed is the version from 31th December. DMR works RX+TX, F...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

I just managed to repair one of my bad RD-5R. It went from BER 13.7% to BER 0.3% and no more reboots with high audio volume. The radio had bad solder connections on the power transistor module (marked as H0606E JC1728, middle pin) and on the audio amplifier chip (marked as TDA2822, Pin 8 ground). I...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

... RD-5R is a viable option for you Thanks alot. Also, DL1DBY, how did You measure BER? Are any improvised ways? I am using a MMDVM duplex hotspot with Pi-Star which shows the BER. Big repeaters seem to have automatic adjustments for radios that are slightly off-frequency. The MMDVM does not do an...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

I can't decide what to buy. I have an experience with OpenGD dm-1801 and I like it but it looks too big for me. I often wear station on my shirt pocket an 5R is much smaller but I care about usability and functionalyty. Is it mostly the same OpenGD for those two stations? (soldering of transistors ...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

Roger suspects that the bad performance of the RD-5R is related to hardware voltage instabilities. This seems to be the case. I have, as I wrote before, three RD-5R. One is performing very good with the OpenGD77 firmware. One is performing not so good (minimum BER 1.8%) and one is performing extreme...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

There have been other posts about this. There seems to be some difference with newer RD-5R radios in relation to the calibration, which this firmware can't handle You could try adjusting your hotpsot offsets, but this still may not resolve the problem and you may need to revert back to the manufact...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

I'll look into it and experiment. I have an old Radio shack counter (analogue only) which can detect the frequency of my simplex and duplex hotspots transmitting, but strangely none of my DMR radios of different brands in DMR mode. Concerning my three RD-5R, these were the calib. values: 1. Very low...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

You could look at the calibration data for each radio, and use a frequency counter or a SFR as a reference to adjust all radios to transmit on the same frequency.
Would a frequency counter with 1 kHz resolution be good enough for this? This is all I currently have that is DMR capable.
