Found my problem!

I'm unable to get VOX working on my OpenGD77.

I reviewed the manual found on githb. I have VOX tuned on via Channel Details and set VOX threshold to '2' via Sound Options and nothing seems to work.

What May I be doing wrong?

I removed the thin plastic layer and it appears to be what you said. I was hesitant to remove this believing it may lead to moisture contamination but it's still totally sealed. Nothing behind? Mine certainly does have something behind. Perhaps the housing to build my GD77 was from some sort of experimental device being developed and surplus used to build my unit?

Regardless, this is a real photo and no tricks or games are being played from my side.
