additionally, if its a repeater/trunking output frequency, there's simple a lot of technical traffic like beaconing that cant be decoded into anything meaningful unless you're debugging network issues with dedicated gear.

First. search on the manufacturer website, otherwise you'll find many information in the dedicated forum section. Are you sure about the DM-1801 and it's not a BF-1801 (FW version looks suspicious)?! both DM- and BF- seem to sell in the same box and the only difference is their hw revision it seems

I don't know if a DMR power meter actually exists. I discussed this with a technician who repairs Motorola DMR radios, and the radios have a special "Test" mode where they transmit a carrier with no DMR pulses etc, so that the technician can test the power output i think it would be something like ...

I don't have any way to measure power here at all, I have a fairly junky SWR meter but wouldn't be useful for this at all. I've eyeballed a few SWR/Power/Frequency counter doodads from places and all of them say no DMR. the only case where you'll NEED a DMR-specific power meter is one particular Mo...

No, no need to install the latest official firmware. Install the OpenGD77 CPS software , with its drivers Install the OpenGD77 firmware Turn on you DM-1801 In the CPS, Extras menu, OpenGD77 Support , make a backup of everything (EEPROM/Flash/Calibration/MCU). i wasnt able to do that without openDM1...
