Re: New Beta 2023 12 02

Roger,

Except for being able to put the RT3S in firmware update mode it was non responsive.

Thanks for the explanation. So reverting fw version wasn't the fix. Just reinstalling fw until the fw uploaded successfully.

Re: New Beta 2023 12 02

I installed the 23 12 02 FW on my RT3S and the display and audio wouldn't work after that. I could get it into firmware update mode so I backed it down to the 2023 11 19 version. Same issue I backed it down to the 2023 09 15 version FW and the display and audio came back. Then I updated to 2023 12 0...

Re: FYI - GPS

I bought an RT3S 2 weeks ago on Amazon. Same Jumpstar gps chip as the earlier versions. Nice thread on improving the GPS signal reception. I pulled apart a AT878UV that I had and the GPS antenna is mounted at the top of the radio pointing up. Same adhesive holding it in place. There is a better conn...

Re: TYT MD-UV380 / RT-3S Installation information

Hi,

Did you get the radio into DFU mode for the firmware update?
Turn it off and press the PTT and the button right above it and turn the radio on.
The LED on top should start flashing red and green.
After that CPS should be able to do the firmware update.
I hope this helps.

Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 : Experimental version

After opening the radio the pc board says "MD9600-UV-V2.1-170608" I am relieved to know its HW V2.1. I sent the first 9600 back and they replaced it about a month later. I have the MD9600 FW from January 23 loaded. I loaded my open GD77 codeplug on the 9600. Its working. I tested on Parrot and it so...

Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 : Experimental version

Hi Roger, Its nice to see OpenGD77 continuing. I have had a MD9600 for quite a while and stopped using it when the AT578 came out. Its a version 1 MD9600. I still have the original code plug. I have the firmware 3.04 CPS 1.18 At this point since I am not using it I would be glad to help test the Alp...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

Hi Roger, I updated my RD5R with the updated firmware. Big improvement on my RD-5R. The Duplex Pi-Star was able to receive the signal from the RD 5R. The BER on my second transmission was 0.1% the same as my GD77. I have taken it out of the box and will check it out more tomorrow. Thanks for the upd...

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version

I updated the FW to the 20200507 version on both the RD5R and the GD77. My RD5R still has the offset issue. The pi-star doesn't even detect the signal. Its using the same codeplug as the GD77 which is doing fine. s/n RD5R*A74** s/n EU20161105** I am in the US and it looks like I got an EU version. W...

Hello from Honolulu

Hi I am AE7GQ - Michael. Right now I am in Honolulu which is locked down. Though I get out to pick up a starbucks in the morning. Getting out for walking or running is ok too. As long as we all keep that personal distancing things should be fine. I got my GD77 on Friday. I initially I got it running...
