Re: BAOFENG DM-1701 DMR

We got an issue filed on github of a developer who wants to experiment with our code on his DM-1701. Do we already know the wrapping algorithm for this radio? Although we are still at an early development stage, some further testing could be helpful, e.g. to see whether the display/keyboard/gpio map...

Re: Port To CS800D

speaking of 380 repo, can i ask for a small patch, i think all color-screen radios could use it? to stop refreshing display if the backlight is off so they wont generate noise to nearby analog radios? (or if there's a more appropriate feature request spot?) Sure, we are already aware of the noise i...

Re: Port To CS800D

FYI. I had a look at the Ailuance HD1 firmware update and the firmware file is embedded inside an exe, so its difficult to know whether its in the same format as the GD-77 or not. It probably depends on whether this is really a TYT radio which is rebranded by Ailuance, and they wrote their own firm...

Port To CS800D

Hi everybody, I wanted to let you know that KC3AWN started experimenting with his Connect Systems CS800D radio, he discovered that it is fairly similar to the MD380, same MCU (STM32F405) and same baseband (HR_C5000). Therefore, me, IU2KWO, KC3AWN and KG5RKI teamed up to port OpenGD77 to this radio t...

Re: Port to TYT UV380/UV390

Guys. FYI. I just ordered a RT-3S from AliExpress, but it will take between 3 and 6 weeks to arrive. Ty Weaver has now cracked the encryption on the MD-9600 which he tells me uses the same encryption as the MD2017 and the UV-380 , and the UV-380 and RT-3S are the same radio. So I am hoping that wit...

Re: Port to TYT UV380/UV390

I presume you are pulling Boot0 high to prevent the CPU from starting because the normal bootloader disables SWD There is another method which does not require Boot0 to be pulled high. With a STLink, it has a function called "Connect under reset" If you select this, when the radio is turned off, an...

Re: Port to TYT UV380/UV390

What we did with the MD380, and what KC3AWN is doing with the CS800 is to disassemble the radio, connect BOOT0 to Vcc, the radio will boot into the STM32 DFU mode, from that you still won't be able to read the firmware but you'll be able to read and write the recovery. Then the recovery can be easil...

Re: Port to TYT UV380/UV390

The MCU is read protected, so it’s not possible to dump the firmware Travis was able to only dump the bootloader because of a bug in the codeplug comms in the main firmware. Perhaps someone can dump the UV-380 bootloader using the MD-380 Toolz Are you referring to this code? I use the same code on ...

Re: Port to TYT UV380/UV390

I will look into that, it would be very easy if some owner of the radio could solder some wires on the SWD pins of the radio, so that we can dump the unwrapped firmware from the radio and have a plaintext/ciphertext pair. Otherwise doing it blindly and looking for strings would be a slower and more ...

Re: Port to TYT UV380/UV390

Ok, so I've tried to use the code from Travis for the MD380 tools to work with the firmware images. My first assumption was wrong (overlooked something). The MD2017 and MD380 use similar images, but not identical (and not the same key). Looks like it's pretty easy to adapt though. The MD2017 code s...
